This template is a simple release form to allow the RTO to have students sign to say they release all claims on the video/audio file and the RTO can use this for educational purposes in the future. They are providing their permission for the RTO to use this recording.

Sometimes there is a disclaimer setup in the online platform that users will click okay on to allow for the session to be recorded. However, the RTO does not have a register of who provided permission, and there may be more than one student at a computer and only one has clicked to give permission.

It is imperative that RTOs seek release forms from students to use these videos in the future.

Product Purpose

Imagine this common setting: Trainer is delivering a session via Zoom to their class of students and records the session. This session is then used in future classes as a recorded resource. Is this okay?

Registered Training Organisations are making use of video from a range of sources. Sometimes these videos have the voices or images of their students or other people who assist with the delivery of the session. Often what is missed is the step of gathering permission to use any recordings in the future that include those additional people other than the trainer.
